Enjoy Ski and Sun this Spring at Severin*s – The Alpine Retreat
Springtime will soon be arriving in the Alps, with the frozen winter months gradually giving way to sunshine and blue skies. Excellent snow conditions this year combined with the approaching longer, warmer days means that some of the most enjoyable skiing of the season is yet to come, and where better to spend a sunny ski break than Lech’s hot new chalet hotel, Severin*s – The Alpine Retreat.
Lifts connecting Lech with St Anton make the Arlberg region Austria’s largest inter-connected ski area, so skiers will be spoilt for choice with routes and runs. Lech is also linked to Warth-Schröcken, a little-known neighbouring resort which enjoys the highest average annual snowfall of any in Europe, meaning that snow is guaranteed much later in the season as the temperatures rise, all the way through to April.
Combining style with substance, traditional design elements meet contemporary touches at Severin*s, featuring vintage Tyrolian timber effortlessly blended with modern Italian furniture by Minotti, and high-tech suites equipped with state-of-the-art Loews sound systems and iPad wall activations. There are nine super-suites each complete with spacious living space and fireplace, and guests can soak up the sunshine from their own sweeping private terrace complete with stunning mountain views. Three of these suites are easily adapted for families and feature cosy wooden bunk-beds, perfect for an Easter holiday break. Alternatively, the four-bedroom Residence is the ideal place for groups of friends or families to ski and stay in style, with a home cinema, state of the art kitchen, grand piano, office and al fresco hot-tub, and over 400 square meters of luxurious living space.
After a long day of sun and snow on the slopes, guests can enjoy après ski at the hotel’s glamorous Alpine inspired bar and lounge followed by fine dining in the restaurant. With Michelin-starred Stephan Kriegelstein at the helm, food lovers will delight in the traditional Austrian cuisine, focusing on seasonal produce prepared with a modern twist. The food is prepared using the latest culinary techniques, and best pared with a bottle of wine from the hotel’s private in-house cellar.
The wellness and spa area at Severin*s – The Alpine Retreat provides the perfect place to relax and recharge, featuring an underground swimming pool equipped with a waterfall and underwater bubble lounge, and a steam room and infra-red sauna.
